Section 4.05 Disposition versions

4.05. The following facilities are intended for use by the public for the purposes of section 10 of the Building Act (chapter B-1.1):

(1)  elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, moving walks and material lifts covered by the Code, other than wind turbine tower lifts;

(2)  elevating devices covered by the standard.

4.05. A contractor or owner-builder may not install an elevator or other elevating device unless it meets the design and manufacturing requirements of the Code or standards referred to in section 4.01, as the case may be.
